Birth Stories

Birth is an experience in a women’s life that holds the power to change them forever. So raw, full of emotional and truly unique to each woman. Hiring a birth photographer is one of the greatest investments for your yourself and for your child. It means you and your partner can be fully present in moment, soaking in all of the firsts and not having to worry about taking pictures. I’ll be there to capture all of those moments, and more.

“When we birth, we don’t just birth our babies. We birth ourselves, we birth our families and we reshape our lives.””

Birth Becomes You

I am so privileged to have been able to complete the world's leading online birth photography course and certification - called The Essence of Birth Course. Investing in this education has provided me with extensive knowledge about birth photography and it has given me huge motivation and inspiration to confidently photograph any type of birth and navigate the challenges that comes with it.

South African Birth Photographers Association (SABPA)

I am honoured to be a professionally registered birth photographer with SABPA. The oath of conduct I took ensures that hospital protocol is followed and that I do not practise outside of the boundaries set by the hospitals or medical professionals. Each hospital / medical professional may have their own merit requirements & permission procedures for allowing a birth photographer at a birth. More hospitals and doctors in South Africa only provide access to SABPA photographers for safety, privacy, and ethical reasons.

South African Nursing Council (SANC)

A worthy mention because I have worked very hard to obtain my nursing degree. Working as a nurse has exposed me to invaluable scenarios that has shaped me and eventually led me to birth photography. I will forever be thankful for the opportunity to have met and interacted with thousands of patients. It taught me the true importance of kindness and compassion towards all human beings.
